About the originals…

1813 NSW Holey & Dump

The 1813 Holey Dollar and Dump are Australia’s first locally struck coins. Known by approximately 300 and 1,000 examples respectively, they are also among our rarest and most famous numismatic icons.

1852 Adelaide Five Pounds

Conceived due to a currency/labour shortage in South Australia triggered by the Gold Rush, if an original 1852 Adelaide Five Pounds was ever discovered it would be priceless.

1855 Sydney Mint Sovereign

Australia’s very first sovereign, born of the 1850s Gold Rush and struck at the nation’s first official mint, the iconic 1855 Sydney Mint Sovereign is extremely rare.

1919 Square Kookaburra Pattern

The 1919-21 Square Patterns were struck as part of a trial of potential new coinage types after WWI. Known by around 200 examples, they are among Australia’s greatest rarities.
