A rare opportunity, we have a single high grade example available of the Sydney Mint’s 1924S Sovereign.

The mintage of the 1924S Sovereign was very low, at just 394,000. As with virtually all Sydney Mint sovereigns of the Roaring 20s, however, the mintage is largely irrelevant in determining the rarity. It is all but certain that a vast majority of the mintage was dispatched overseas to satisfy the enormous debt accumulated by Australia during WWI, with very few coins, if any, remaining on Australian shores. Those coins almost inevitably were melted down for the gold. As a result, virtually all 1920s sovereigns struck at the Sydney Mint are tough-to-find. The 1924S is rightly regarded as very rare in premium grade, and is naturally missing from most collections.

Graded by NGC at MS62, the equivalent of Uncirculated quality, the opportunity to own this key Roaring 20s date in such magnificent quality must not be missed. Add to cart now!
