The King George V 1918 Australian Gold Sovereign was struck more than a century ago, in the year that World War I ended, is available in premium grade of Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated quality. The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s St George Slaying the Dragon, while the obverse carries the portrait of King George V designed by Sir E.B. MacKennal.

Very scarce today, partly due to the number shipped overseas by Australia to pay for the debt accumulated during WWI and partly due to demand from British collectors as no sovereigns were struck in Britain in 1918.

Issued at the Australian Royal Mint in Sydney, this Gold Sovereign is presented in a timber case with a Certificate of Authenticity.
